Taking a Tech Timeout in Midtown ATL

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we hosted another Tech Timeout event, this time in ATL! This event was based on our self-care card activity, #49 Let Your Mind Wander, where we did a sound bath meditation. Sound baths are known to help:
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve sleep
  • Relax the body and mind
  • Increase physical awareness
  • Increase focus
  • Increase mental awareness and clarity

  • We kicked off the event with doing intention-setting. Everyone picked an intention word to reflect on as they listened to the sound bath. Some of the words we picked included, "Evaluate," "Express," and "Communicate."

Once we all picked our words, we put on our headphones to listen to the meditation led by MQC's own Tianna Christine

After listening, we had meaningful conversations on so many things from other ways to calm the mind, our mental health challenges, improving diet to help with mental health, how to network when you're introverted, and of course tech experience/aspirations. One attendee shared how she created an an app for on-campus safety for a hackathon.

We thank everyone who attended this event, and we look forward to being back in the "A" for another meetup!
